Our Field Trips are extended, adventure-style outings designed to give dogs meaningful enrichment, movement, and mental stimulation beyond the neighborhood walk. Each Field Trip runs 90+ minutes door-to-door and includes safe, supervised transport to one of Austin’s dog-friendly destinations — parks, trails, greenbelts, and other carefully selected spots perfect for exploration and engagement.

By default, Field Trips are private outings for your dog alone, allowing us to tailor the pace, environment, and experience entirely around their needs. If you’d like something more social, we’re happy to thoughtfully include your dog in a small, compatible pack with one or two other dogs. We host dozens of social dogs enjoying Field Trips across Austin every day, and all groupings are made intentionally based on temperament, size, energy level, and play style — never randomly.

Each outing focuses on structured movement, calm socialization, leash manners, neutrality training, and confidence-building exploration, with plenty of water breaks, shade, and rest built in. This is not a chaotic group hike or a free-for-all — it’s a guided, purpose-driven adventure led by experienced handlers who are actively engaged with your dog the entire time.

As with all Ken Walks Dogs services, Field Trips include GPS-tracked pickup and drop-off, real-time notifications, and detailed photo updates in our app. Our team is professionally trained, commercially insured, and supported by 24/7 on-call staff, ensuring your dog is safe, supported, and cared for from start to finish.
